Green with envy

The point guard position in the NBA is filled with amazing talent for the first time in years. In fact it is fair to say that it is the deepest position in the league. With all of the great point guards in the league it is ridiculous to believe the hype for Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics.

For starters Rondo has averaged 10 points and seven assists for his career, not really elite point guard numbers. The next thing that drives me crazy is the fact that everyone is in a frenzy about how many assists he's averaging this year, 14, when he has FOUR hall of famers on his team!

The man can't even run an offense if it's not in a fast break. Take the two NBA finals against the Lakers as an example. The Lakers literally gave him about 10 to eight feet of separation every time he had the ball forcing him to make plays by himself and he could not hack it!

So for now let's leave all the praise and hype for point guards who truly deserve it like Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Steve Nash, but if your into small point guards who can only pass it to legends and have zero offensive skills take Rondo he's all yours.
