Not Werth the money
Over this weekend Jayson Werth cashed in on a 7 year 126 million dollar contract. What the hell just happened?
The terrible Washington Nationals just made sure that their team will stay terrible for a long time to come. This is a classic example of handcuffing a franchise with a HORRIBLE contract. This contract keeps the Nationals from signing other free agents and makes Jayson Werth virtually un-tradeable.
Jayson Werth just became one of the highest paid players in baseball at the age of 31!! Statistically players begin to decline after the age of 30. This means that Werth's numbers will be going down, and the worst part.... his numbers aren't that great!
In his career Werth has averaged under .300 batting, less than 30 home runs, and less than 90 RBI's, how is that worth 126 million dollars!!!?? The fact is that every off season there is always one team that over pays for a decent player, this year that sucker team is the Washington Nationals.
