Rotten in the big apple
Over the past summer where Lebron James dominated the free agency talk and rumors the New York Knicks had virtually promised their fans that they were the ones who were going to land the king. When Lebron tucked his tale between his legs and scurried over to Miami the Knicks needed to sign a big name in order save face.
Que Amare Staudemire! The Knicks gave him a five year 100 million dollar deal to come to Manhattan and dunk. In reality that's all he can do, dunk. Nevermind the fact that he is nearly seven feet tall and dunking comes natural and easy to him.
Amare impressed us all his first few years in the league with his thunderous dunks and earned all the buzz that surrounded him, the only problem is that seven years later he is the exact same player. Amare has not improved any part of his game, besides his medium range jumper, and continues to have zero moves around the basket, in other words if he's not dunking he's not scoring.
The atrociousness of Amare's defense deserves an entire paragraph devoted to it. When the Knicks are playing defense they might as well be playing four on five because Amare has never played defense a day in his life, it's almost as if he and Chris Bosh have been working together to see who can be the worst defensive 7 footer in the league.
