Life in the wrong Lane
What is there to really say about Lane Kiffin? How did this guy ever get one high profile job let alone three? This is a clear example of how a man's last name can carry him to riches and undeserving career success.
Monte Kiffin is considered the greatest defensive football coach in the history of the NFL and he also happens to be Lane's father. Lane first popped onto the scene with the Oakland Raiders as their head coach after a short career of being a coordinator around the NFL. Lane went on to a less than stellar 5 wins in 20 games before being fired and publicly embarrassed by Raiders owner Al Davis.
After being fired Kiffin somehow found a way to get hired at the University of Tennessee as their new head football coach at a very prestigious and tradition rich football program. Lane began his career at Tennessee like he left Oakland, filled with controversy. After just one year in which he went a pitiful seven and six USC hired him as their new head coach.
I truly do not understand why this man keeps getting a job. Kiffin just wrapped up the worst season USC has seen in six years. I have to be missing something because this man continues to get amazing job after amazing job when he has never won more than eight wins in a season at any level as a head coach.
